William Samuel Freeth [fh.4.6.1.4.4.2]

William Samuel Freeth was the second child of William Freeth & Emma Standley born Oct-December 1860 at Smethwick, Staffs.

In 1861 William & his parents & older sister Hannah were living at George St, West Bromwich.

By 1871 the family had moved to Oldbury Rd, Smethwick & William now had 3 sisters & 2 brothers.

William was working as a baker by 1881 & boarding with Harriett Sheppard & her family at 507 Oldbury Rd, Smethwick.  This was the baker’s shop & Harriett & her son Samuel were bakers.

On July 21st, 1886 William married Hannah Dearn at Christ Church, Quinton, Worcestershire.  Witnesses at the wedding were William’s brother Edwin Freeth & Abigail Dearn.  Hannah was born c1857, in Halesowen, Worcs, the daughter of Joseph Dearn.

In 1891 William & Hannah were living at 27 Langley Rd, Oldbury & William was working as a glass flattener.

William died in July-September 1900, his death being registered at West Bromwich.

In 1901 widowed Hannah was living on her own at 27 Langley Rd where she was working as a bread baker.

By 1911 Hannah was employed as a housekeeper for Lilian Annie Pooler, a head teacher, & her sister & brother at 2 Beakes Rd, Smethwick.

By 1939 Hannah was living at Pound Rd, Oldbury with Sarah & Isaac Jones, retired.
There is a death registered for Hannah Freeth in Oct-December 1945 in Birmingham.
